
Facebook awards researcher $100,000 for finding bug that granted internal access
In a move demonstrating its commitment to cybersecurity, Facebook has awarded researcher Ben Sadeghipour $100,000 after he discovered a bug that granted him internal access to the company’s servers.
According to TechCrunch, Sadeghipour found a security vulnerability in October 2024 while analyzing Facebook’s ad platform. The issue allowed him to run commands on an internal server hosting the platform, effectively giving him control over it.
