Spy pics appear to show Tesla’s refreshed Model Y in testing
Pictures posted on social media have provided a first look at what appears to be Tesla’s redesigned Model Y, with the updated crossover sporting a new front and rear design. The images, shared by Instagram car spy account Cochespias1 and user DominicBRNKMN, show a “Juniper” refresh that moves away from the original Model 3 headlight style in favor of a full-frontal light bar setup reminiscent of the Chevy Equinox EV.
While the photos are slightly blurry due to snowy conditions, they also reveal a new rear end with a Cybertruck-esque light bar similar to one seen in a July leak. The Model Y is reportedly one of the top-selling vehicles worldwide and has not undergone any significant changes since its launch in 2020, aside from a center console refresh.
The last major redesign undertaken by Tesla was for the Model 3 “Highland,” which debuted in the US market last year and focused on modifying the front and rear, as well as making improvements to quietness and ride quality. The timing of this new design is currently unknown, but prior reports suggested that a redesigned six-seater Model Y might be in the works for China with a late 2025 release.
It’s worth noting that the current Tesla lineup still features stalks for changing gears and activating turn signals, making an update overdue for many.
