Grayscale Outlines 39 New Crypto Assets Under Consideration for Adoption
January 10, 2025 – In a recent blog post, Grayscale Investment outlined 39 new crypto assets classified as Assets Under Consideration (AUC) that it plans to include in its future investment products. This move is part of the asset management firm’s efforts to constantly review and update its selection of digital assets.
Grayscale explained that the list will be updated at a frequency of every 15 days following each quarter-end, reflecting the rapidly evolving crypto market landscape. The newly outlined assets are categorized into five broad groups: Currencies, Smart Contract Platforms, Financial Crypto Assets, Consumer and Culture Crypto Assets, and Utilities and Services Crypto Assets.
The categorization serves as a standardized framework for organizing the crypto asset class, allowing investors to better navigate the ever-expanding universe of digital assets.
In this latest update, Grayscale has listed several notable assets that are currently not included in its existing family of products. These include Kaspas (KAS), Aptos (APT), and Celestia (TIA) under the Smart Contract Platforms category.
The Financial Crypto Assets group comprises a range of assets focused on delivering financial transactions and services, including Aerodrome (AERO), Binance Coin (BNB), Ethena (ENA), Hyperliquid (HYPE)*, Injective Protocol (INJ), Jupiter (JUP), Ondo Finance (ONDO), Pendle (PENDLE), THORChain (RUNE).
The Consumer and Culture Crypto Assets group is comprised of assets that support consumption-centric activities across various goods and services. This includes Ai16z (AI16Z)*, Dogecoin (DOGE), Immutable (IMX), Virtual Protocol (VIRTUAL)*.
