O-Town Distances Itself from Diddy, Says Misconceived Association Has Led to Job Losses
In a surprising turn of events, the boy band O-Town has distanced themselves from music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The group, which rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like “All or Nothing” and “Liquid Dreams,” has been associated with Diddy due to their shared management team.
However, it appears that this connection has caused more harm than good for O-Town. In an exclusive interview with Billboard, the group’s members have revealed that they are no longer working with Diddy due to a series of unfortunate events that have led to job losses within the band.
“We’re not associated with Diddy anymore,” said O-Town member Erik-Michael Estrada. “We’re trying to move forward from a very difficult situation, and we don’t want people thinking that we’re tied to him or his management team.”
The group’s departure from Diddy’s camp is reportedly due to a series of misunderstandings regarding their creative direction and financial arrangements.
“We were never given the autonomy to make our own music decisions,” said O-Town member Trevor Penick. “We were forced to take a certain direction, which didn’t align with our artistic vision. It was like we were just puppets on strings.”
The situation has led to the loss of several jobs within the band’s organization.
“We’re not even sure what happened, but we know that people were let go,” said O-Town member Jacob Underwood. “It was a really tough time for all of us. We never wanted it to come to this, but unfortunately, it did.”
Despite the setbacks, O-Town is looking forward to moving on and creating music on their own terms.
“We’re focusing on getting back to our roots,” said O-Town member Ashley Parker Angel. “We want to make music that speaks to who we are as individuals and not what some label or manager wants us to be.”
The group’s decision to distance themselves from Diddy comes at a time when the rapper is facing criticism for his handling of the situation.
While it remains unclear how this will impact O-Town’s future projects, one thing is certain: they’re determined to create music that reflects their true identity and artistic vision.
