Gensler to Make Final Strike Against Ripple Before Resigning
Outgoing SEC Chairman Gary Gensler is set to take one last swing at cryptocurrency company Ripple before leaving his position, U.Today has learned. The news comes as a surprise, considering Alderoty’s previous appeal to the incoming SEC boss to put an end to all non-fraud cases against the crypto industry.
It appears that Gensler will not be giving the industry a free pass after all, despite calls for leniency from some quarters. The former Chairman has consistently taken a hardline stance on regulatory issues surrounding cryptocurrencies, and it seems his views have not changed in the final days of his tenure.
As previously reported, Gensler’s departure is expected to take place within the next week. It remains unclear whether his successor, Atkins, will follow a similar approach or adopt a more accommodating stance.
In related news, Ripple has recently donated $100,000 to support California wildfire relief efforts, further highlighting its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
