Apple Strengthens India Retail Presence With Apple Store App Launch
In a significant move to further expand its retail presence in the Indian market, Apple has launched its Apple Store app in the country. This development comes hot on the heels of reports that the Cupertino-based technology giant has managed to secure a 9-10% market share in Q4 2024, marking a remarkable growth driven by festive discounts and affordability offers.
The Apple Store app is designed to provide a more personalized shopping experience for Indian consumers. The new platform features five tabs at the bottom: For You, Products, Go Further, Search, and Bag. These sections cater to various needs of customers, such as exploring products tailored to their preferences and receiving recommendations from Apple specialists.
One of the key highlights of this app is its ability to allow users to customize their Mac purchases by selecting processor, RAM, and storage options that are not currently available on e-commerce platforms like Amazon or Flipkart. This move is a testament to Apple’s commitment to providing seamless customer experiences across various touchpoints.
The company has also announced plans to expand its retail store presence in India with the addition of Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai locations in the near future. The new app will enable customers to schedule sessions for personal setup assistance and participate in Today at Apple workshops at these stores.
To further enhance customer experience, the Apple Store app offers users the option to add free engravings to their purchases of AirPods, iPad, Apple Pencil (2nd generation), and AirTag. This is an innovative move that sets Apple apart from its competitors in the Indian market.
The launch of this new app also marks a significant milestone for Apple as it cements its position among the top five smartphone manufacturers in India. The company’s growth is attributed to the success of its affordability offerings, including 24-month no-cost EMIs.
Apple’s head of Retail Online, Karen Rasmussen, emphasized the importance of putting customers at the center of every decision made by the company. “Our customer is at the heart of everything we do, and we are thrilled to introduce the Apple Store app to reach even more users in India,” she said.
The new platform aims to deepen connections with Indian consumers by offering a unique shopping experience that combines both online and offline touchpoints. The company’s commitment to its customers is evident in its continuous efforts to innovate and expand its retail presence in the region.
