NYT ‘Strands’ Hints And Answers For Sunday, January 19
The wait is finally over! It’s time to dive into the latest installment of New York Times’ popular word game, Strands. If you’re struggling to come up with the answers on your own, don’t worry – I’ve got you covered.
In this article, we’ll be exploring the hints and solutions for today’s Sunday, January 19 puzzle. Before we dive in, it’s essential to note that some players might need an extra nudge to get started. If that sounds like you, then please scroll slowly!
For those who have already begun tackling the challenge, I’m excited to share the first two letters of every theme word in today’s puzzle. They’re ordered from left to right, then top to bottom by any letter of the word appearing for the first time: IN EM ST DR SE TR SN SP.
As you continue your journey through the game, it’s crucial to stay focused and on track. Remember that all theme words must be at least four letters long, and you’re allowed to use the same letters more than once. The puzzle creators are notorious for their cunning clues, so don’t be surprised if things get a little tricky.
After some careful analysis, I’ve managed to uncover the spangram, which turns out to be… EMAIL LABEL! This revelation should give you a decent starting point for your search. New York Times Strands screenshot, showing the highlighted term EMAIL LABEL.
Now that we have this crucial piece of information, it’s time to reveal the rest of today’s puzzle. The completed grid looks like…
Completed Strands grid for January 19 featuring the words INBOX, EMAIL LABEL, STARRED, DRAFTS, SENT, TRASH, SNOOZED, and SPAM.
Not too difficult a theme clue to decipher. “X” on the grid caught my eye immediately. So I found INBOX, DRAFTS, and SPAM pretty quickly. “Email” was quite clearly part of the spangram, but I couldn’t figure out how STARRED and SENT helped narrow things down a little, leaving three words to find. TRASH and SNOOZED then gave me the remaining spangram letters, but it took me a second to figure out “label.” I used no hints and the spangram was the eighth theme word I found.
