The ability to choose when to use my various abilities, such as executing special moves that pull me into elaborate cutscenes akin to those seen in wuxia films, added a sense of control and depth to the battles.
Unfortunately, allied generals share the same fate as their enemies – they’re made of tissue paper, making it crucial to prioritize the protection of your own leaders at all costs. However, this minor flaw can’t be used to tarnish an otherwise excellent experience.
While some critics may have been disappointed by the Wanderer’s lack of personality and unengaging storyline, I found myself fully immersed in the world of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. The ability to build relationships with characters across various mediums has become a hallmark of the series, and this game does not disappoint.
Overall, Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a shining example of how a franchise can refresh itself by taking calculated risks. By focusing on storytelling and gameplay, Omega Force has breathed new life into a once-stagnant series.
