Bluesky Launches a Custom Feed for Vertical Videos
In a move to further customize the user experience and adapt to changing trends in social media consumption, Bluesky has announced the launch of a dedicated feed for vertical videos.
The new feature allows users to see trending videos directly within the app’s explore tab on their mobile devices. To access this content, users can simply swipe up to load more videos. The option is also available for users to pin the video feed to their home screen or add it to their list of feeds.
“We had to get in on the video action, too,” Bluesky said in a statement. “Bluesky now has custom feeds for video! Like any other feed, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.”
In addition to this new feature, the company also acknowledged that some users may need to restart their app to access the video content. This could be due to a minor technical glitch, but we have no further information on the matter.
The move comes as other social media platforms are capitalizing on TikTok’s current situation. Elon Musk-owned X has already launched a dedicated feed for vertical videos in the U.S., while Meta has announced plans to release a new video editing app, Edits, aimed at rivaling CapCut.
Bluesky’s decision to launch a custom feed for vertical videos demonstrates its commitment to innovation and staying ahead of the curve.
