Title: Justin Timberlake Recalls Pitching Beyoncé on ‘Single Ladies’ Male Dancer ‘SNL’ Sketch: ‘She Was Not Having It’
Justin Timberlake has recalled the time he attempted to pitch an ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch to Beyoncé, which involved a male dancer in her iconic song “Single Ladies.” During a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Timberlake remembered the incident and revealed that Queen Bey was not having it.
“I remember doing a meeting at SNL, and I was like, ‘Hey, we should do this “Single Ladies” sketch where I’m dancing like one of the girls,'” Timberlake said. “And she was not having it. She was like, ‘Uh-uh, no.'”
The actor and singer, who has been a long-time friend and collaborator with Beyoncé, further emphasized that he understood her concerns, stating, “I get it, I’m a dude, but it’s not my job to tell people what they can or can’t do. It’s their art.”
Beyoncé’s iconic song ‘Single Ladies’ was released in 2008 and became an instant sensation, cementing its status as one of the most influential songs of the past decade.
