**Where Trump’s Cabinet Nominees Stand in Senate Confirmation Process**
As the Senate continues to review President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominations, several candidates have cleared hurdles and are awaiting votes on the floor. According to recent updates, a number of these appointments have been voted out of committee and await further action.
Elise Stefanik, nominated to serve as United Nations ambassador, has completed her confirmation hearing with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The committee advanced her nomination to the Senate floor for a vote. This development comes on the heels of Trump’s nominees for Office of Management and Budget director Russ Vought, Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, and Attorney General Pam Bondi having done so.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Secretary nominee Brooke Rollins, Commerce secretary nominee Howard Lutnick, and Small Business administrator nominee Kelly Loeffler have all testified before the Senate but are still awaiting scheduling for committee votes. Kennedy is expected to testify before the Committee on Health, Education Labor, and Pensions Thursday.
Senate Majority Whip John Thune has moved to end deliberations for Energy Secretary nominee Chris Wright and Veteran Affairs Secretary Doug Collins, paving the way for a procedural vote prior to the confirmation vote.
