The Trailer for Ash Looks Like a Trippy Sci-fi Goodie Bag
Sometimes you watch a trailer and think “Yeah, I’d like to see that right freaking now.” That’s about to happen to you with the new trailer for Ash, the latest film from director and Grammy award-winning producer Flying Lotus. Eiza González (3 Body Problem) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) star in this upcoming sci-fi epic.
From the look of it, this movie looks like everything we love about science fiction all rolled into one – a delicious mix of gadgets, stunning visuals, and creepy creatures. The setup is instantly familiar – an amalgamation of various tropes we’ve seen before such as desert island, mysterious stranger, amnesia, etc., but with some new twists.
The trailer shows Eiza González’s character Riya waking up on a mysterious planet with little to no memory of how she got there or why. A stranger named Brion (Paul) soon arrives, claiming he’s her friend – or is he? The truth remains unclear, leaving the audience questioning everyone’s intentions.
Visually stunning and with an eerie atmosphere, Ash promises to deliver thrills, chills, and spills that we have come to expect from the sci-fi genre. Written by Jonni Remmler and directed by Flying Lotus, Ash comes to theaters on March 21.
