Record Number of New Subscribers for Netflix Last Year
According to the latest quarterly report by Netflix, the streaming giant has achieved a record number of new subscribers in the past year. Despite intense competition from other streaming services, Netflix remains the market leader with over 300 million users as of last year’s data.
The company’s fourth-quarter financial report reveals that the number of new subscriptions has remained strong, with two consecutive NFL games and a successful “Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson” boxing event being broadcast live on their platform. In addition, their own original content has also seen significant success, including the popular show “Squid Game”.
“We are still in an intense competition,” said Netflix in their report. “We have many strong competitors behind us, both in the traditional entertainment industry and among the major technology companies.”
Despite this challenge, Netflix’s shares have increased by 9% since the beginning of the year.
As reported by Flixpatrol, Netflix remains the market leader with over 300 million subscribers as of last year’s data. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime reportedly has around 200 million users, while Disney+ follows closely behind with a bronze medal position and approximately 122 million subscribers.
The competition in the streaming industry is extremely fierce, with Paramount+, Hulu, Eros Now, and Peacock also among the top 10 most popular services.
