In his recent comments, Dovbnya expressed surprise at how much of a contrast there is between the apathy exhibited by retail investors and the bullish sentiment shown by professional investors in the crypto space. He emphasized that these sophisticated players have been increasing their exposure to Bitcoin, with some even setting their sights on $200,000 as a potential price target for the largest cryptocurrency.
This stark difference in outlook might be attributed to the fact that retail investors are heavily invested in meme cryptocurrencies, which have witnessed significant losses recently. Dogwifhat (WIF) has plummeted by over 85%, while Bonk (BONK) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) have suffered drops of 70% and out of the top 20 respectively.
Despite these declines, Bitwise predicts that inflows into Bitcoin ETFs will increase in 2025 compared to the previous year.
