Ripple has announced the launch of a cross-border payment service in Portugal with Unicâmbio, marking its entry into the European market.
According to Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe, this collaboration is a significant milestone for the company as it marks the first time its services have been made available in Portugal. The move further solidifies Ripple’s presence in Latin America, particularly in Brazil, where it has established strong relationships with major financial institutions.
The partnership aims to facilitate faster, cheaper, and more efficient cross-border transactions between Portugal and Brazil. By leveraging Ripple’s blockchain-based payment technology, the companies will enable near-instant settlement times and reduce transaction costs for users.
