Pixel Watch 3 is getting ‘Loss of Pulse Detection’ in the U.S. in March
In a significant development, Google has announced that it has received FDA clearance for the “Loss of Pulse Detection” feature on its Pixel Watch 3 and will be launching this functionality in the United States at the end of March.
This groundbreaking feature has already been rolled out to 14 countries in Europe, where it was initially launched last September. In essence, the Loss of Pulse Detection capability is designed to identify instances where a user’s heart stops beating due to an unforeseen event such as primary cardiac arrest, respiratory or circulatory failure, overdose, or poisoning.
In the event that the watch detects a loss of pulse, it will prompt the user to check if they are alright. If the user remains unresponsive, the Pixel Watch 3 will automatically place a call to emergency services in order to provide potentially life-saving care.
