Representative Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has recently announced his plan to introduce a bill in the House of Representatives that would authorize the creation and circulation of a new quarter-dollar coin featuring President Donald J. Trump.
The proposed legislation, which has been met with mixed reactions from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, aims to commemorate Mr. Trump’s bold leadership and dedication to America’s greatness by adding his likeness to the United States Mint’s offerings.
As per Rep. Wilson’s statement, the bill will be introduced in the House of Representatives later this week.
“This historic moment deserves a symbol that reflects President Trump’s unparalleled achievements,” he declared during an interview with Fox News Digital earlier today.
The proposed legislation comes amid ongoing efforts by lawmakers to commemorate Mr. Trump’s presidency through various means, including architectural alterations and ceremonial gestures.
Sources close to the matter indicate that if passed, the bill would require the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Director of the National Park Service, to arrange for the carving of President Trump’s figure on Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
