Fight of the Night Candidates
Any fight featuring Gaethje brings Fight of the Night potential. Fiziev is another fighter who rarely engages in boring fights. Given their history, both apart and together, you’d have to consider the co-main event as the most likely winner for this award.
However, don’t sleep on Jalin Turner vs. Ignacio Bahamondes, Amanda Lemos vs. Iasmin Lucindo, or Joshua Van vs. Rei Tsuruya.
Jalin Turner vs. Ignacio Bahamondes
This is a battle of two talented lightweight strikers moving in opposite directions. Turner should be on a two-fight win streak but his carelessness at the end of his fight with Renato Moicano at UFC 300 cost him a win and led to a TKO defeat. He now finds himself on a three-fight losing streak, making a win desperately needed.
Ignacio Bahamondes is on a two-fight winning streak with both victories coming via stoppage. Turner ranks #13, while Bahamondes yearns for the number next to his name.
Amanda Lemos vs. Iasmin Lucindo
This will be a battle of top-10 strawweights. Lemos, ranking #5, has already had her shot at Weili and fell short. Lucindo, one of the youngest fighters in the UFC at 23, is attempting to make a rise into contention.
Both Brazilians are known for their aggressive fighting styles, which could result in a kickboxing match with some sequences on the ground.
Joshua Van vs. Rei Tsuruya
Last but not least, Van and Tsuruya will face off. Van has shown continuous improvement with each fight and is comfortable trading blows with his opponents.
Tsuruya, 22 years young, boasts elite-level grappling skills that could lead to a victory if he can overcome Van and rise into the UFC’s top-15 men’s flyweight rankings.
