Nvidia GTC 2025: What to Expect From This Year’s Show
Nvidia’s annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC) is just around the corner, and I’m excited to share with you what we can anticipate at the event. Starting on Monday and running till Friday in San Jose, TechCrunch will be on the ground providing coverage of all the news as it breaks.
To kick things off, CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote address on Tuesday morning, focusing on the advancements in AI and accelerating computing technologies. But beyond that, we’re anticipating a plethora of announcements related to robotics, sovereign AI, automotive innovations, and much more.
The sheer scale of the event is staggering: 1,000 sessions featuring 2,000 speakers and nearly 400 exhibitors. If there’s one thing we can be certain about, it’s that Nvidia will make some significant noise at GTC.
One major area of interest is undoubtedly AI. While the company has already made some strides in this space with their GPU-accelerated AI computing solutions, Huang will likely touch on further breakthroughs and advancements in the field.
It’s worth noting that the recent success of Chinese AI lab DeepSeek has led to a significant drop in orders for Nvidia’s powerful GPUs like Blackwell. Despite this, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is adamant that the rise of DeepSeek will ultimately accelerate the broader adoption of AI technology – and therefore benefit Nvidia in the long run.
On a related note, we’re expecting some conversation around the rapid growth of “reasoning” models like OpenAI’s o1. These power-hungry applications are expected to further drive demand for high-performance GPUs.
Despite being in an enviable position with 82% market share in the GPU space, Nvidia still faces stiff competition from AMD and other rivals. But make no mistake – GTC will be an opportunity for them to flex their muscle and showcase what they’re working on.
