CZ Denies WSJ Article Claiming Negotiations With US Government for Pardon
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, has taken to Twitter to deny a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claiming that he was in talks with the US government regarding a presidential pardon. In a series of tweets, CZ emphasized that the article’s claims were inaccurate and misleading.
“I am sorry to disappoint,” CZ tweeted, “the WSJ article got the facts wrong.” He further stated that the publication had attempted to fabricate a story by reaching out to numerous individuals in search of information. According to Zhao, dozens of people contacted him after the article was published to inform him about its contents, suggesting that the publication may have intentionally manipulated the narrative.
The Binance CEO also refuted claims made by the WSJ regarding his potential stake sale negotiations with World Liberty Financial. CZ emphasized that no such discussions had taken place and that he remains in full control of the company, holding 90% of the stake.
Zhao’s denial serves to clarify the situation and debunk the recent claims made by the Wall Street Journal.
