Google today announced the launch of new features, including developer tools and new game titles, aimed at enhancing the gaming experience on both mobile and PC platforms. The announcement comes ahead of the Game Developers Conference (GDC), an annual event that brings together industry professionals to showcase innovations in the field.
The company introduced several new tools for developers, including a dedicated SDK for native PC games on Google Play Games that will include in-app purchase integration. Additionally, the Play Console will now be updated to allow for easier distribution and management of various builds for mobile and PCs. This move is expected to make it simpler for game creators to bring their titles to multiple platforms.
Moreover, by default, all mobile games will become available on PC through the Play Store, unless developers opt out of this option. Notably, certain games will have a special badge or icon indicating that they have been specifically optimized for play on PCs.
In addition, Google is also bringing support for AMD-based laptops and desktops to its Google Play Games platform, allowing users to access these titles from the start menu of their devices.
