Y Combinator’s Police Surveillance Darling Flock Safety Raises $275M At $7.5B Valuation
Startups are often praised for their innovative solutions and impressive growth, but few have reached the same level of success as Flock Safety. The company has just announced that it has secured a massive $275 million in funding at a staggering $7.5 billion valuation.
Flock Safety’s technology is used by law enforcement agencies as well as businesses and property management companies to enhance their surveillance capabilities. Their most notable feature is its automatic license plate recognition tech, but they also develop gunshot detection tools marketed towards schools and other public spaces.
The company has seen immense growth over the years since its founding in 2017 when it was part of Y Combinator’s batch that year. It managed to cross the $300 million annual recurring revenue mark last year, which is a remarkable 70% year-over-year growth.
Flock Safety now has a total of over $950 million in funding after this recent round, with investors like Andreessen Horowitz, GreenOaks, Meritech Capital, Matrix Partners, and Y Combinator participating.
