Zhao took to Twitter to address the allegations, clarifying that Trump’s reported interest in investing in Binance US was unfounded. “Another false WSJ story,” Zhao tweeted. “Just to clarify: @realDonaldTrump has NOT asked or expressed interest in investing in Binance.US.”
The initial report by The Wall Street Journal suggested that Trump was considering an investment in Binance US, a move that would have raised eyebrows given his controversial history with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Trump’s cabinet members’ Bitcoin investments had already sparked controversy, as it highlighted potential conflicts of interest and raised questions about the administration’s stance on cryptocurrencies.
