Bluesky users debate plans around user data and AI training
Social network Bluesky recently published a proposal outlining new options for users to indicate whether they want their posts and data used for things like generative AI training and public archiving. This move has sparked debates among the community, with some expressing alarm and others welcoming the change.
The proposal suggests that if a user indicates they don’t want their data used for training generative AI, companies and research teams building AI training sets are expected to respect this intent when scraping websites or performing bulk transfers using the protocol itself.
