Title: Adolescence was filmed in our house, and it felt like we won the lottery – but you won’t believe what the crew left behind
As the owner of a stunning mansion, I never thought that my humble abode would be transformed into a film set. Little did I know, my house would become the backdrop for an iconic coming-of-age movie.
I was utterly surprised when the production team announced that they had chosen our residence as the primary filming location for Adolescence, a heartwarming and intense portrayal of adolescence. It felt like winning the lottery! For days, cameras rolled, capturing the raw emotions and unspoken sentiments of the characters on screen.
However, what started off as an incredible opportunity took a turn when I realized that the crew left behind some unexpected items. It was as if they had forgotten to pack their entire wardrobes!
When the film wrapped up, we were left with a sea of clothing scattered throughout our home. There were designer dresses, worn-out t-shirts, and even costumes that seemed straight out of a sci-fi movie! I mean, who leaves behind an entire rack of fancy gowns?
As my family and I began to organize the chaos, we stumbled upon some truly bizarre items. A collection of wigs in every shape and size? Check! A stash of what looked like 100 pairs of sneakers? Yep, that too!
It was as if the crew had raided a thrift store, and then left it all behind. In the end, it’s amusing to think about how much work went into creating those characters’ outfits only for the crew to forget their own clothes.
Despite the chaos they left behind, I’m grateful we got to be a part of something so special. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allowed my family and me to connect with the filmmaking process in an intimate way.
And who knows? Maybe one day, our home will feature as the setting for another groundbreaking film, and we’ll have a chance to relive this unforgettable adventure all over again!
