Are altcoins set for massive gains? – THIS analyst thinks so…
The much-awaited altcoin season has been elusive in 2025, particularly amid macro uncertainty, which has capped Bitcoin [BTC] below $90K. However, Guy Young, the Founder of Ethena [ENA], believes that the sector could soon see significant growth.
Young’s prediction is based on Funding Rates’ correlation with U.S. T-bills. Notably, in the last two years, there have been only two instances where funding averaged below risk-free rates for more than two consecutive weeks. On both occasions, altcoins skyrocketed immediately after. As of last Friday, the third period has been recorded.
Young’s chart illustrates that the altcoin market cap, excluding BTC and stablecoins, rallied (green) following the signal (red) being flashed. However, will history repeat itself?
