
Anthropic And Databricks Team Up To Help Customers Launch Their Own AI Agents
In a groundbreaking move, AI giant Anthropic has partnered with data storage and analytics company Databricks to empower businesses to launch their own AI agents. The five-year partnership aims to bring Anthropic’s powerful AI models, including its flagship model Claude, to over 10,000 corporate customers of Databricks.
Under this agreement, these companies will be able to harness the capabilities of Claude 3.7 Sonnet, which boasts features of a conventional language model while also possessing the ability to “reason” through multi-step problems. This innovative AI technology can be used to develop and deploy AI-powered bots that can process massive amounts of unstructured data safely.
The partnership is a significant step forward in making AI more accessible and responsible in the enterprise space, according to Mike Krieger, Anthropic’s chief product officer. “We’re really grounded in responsibility, trust, and safety,” he emphasized.
As part of this collaboration, Databricks will provide its customers with direct access to Claude and other AI models, including Meta’s Llama and Mistral’s open-source models. This will enable businesses to create AI-powered solutions tailored to their specific needs, such as developing AI coding assistants or streamlining internal processes.
The alliance also paves the way for Anthropic and Databricks to develop new features together and conduct joint research on innovative ways to deploy frontier models in areas requiring extreme accuracy, like accounting or legal services.
For Anthropic, this deal presents an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how its AI technology is used in real-world scenarios. “That’s an area where the rubber hits the road,” Krieger explained, referring to the potential for direct customer feedback and input.
The agreement underscores the growing trend of AI giants and startups targeting business customers, who demand reliability, security, and customization features not typically found in consumer-facing AI applications.
