Avengers: Doomsday Is Reuniting Fox’s Original X-Men
Marvel just announced the cast for its upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s a treat for long-time fans of the X-Men franchise. In an unexpected move, the studio has decided to bring back some familiar faces from the original 2000 film, X-Men.
As part of the ensemble cast, we can expect to see Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Professor X, alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Halle Berry returning as Storm. Additionally, James Marsden will once again don the red suit as Cyclops, while Famke Janssen is set to reprise her portrayal of Jean Grey.
This unprecedented move comes as a surprise given Marvel’s previous stance on abandoning their X-Men properties following the Disney-Fox merger in 2019. However, it seems the studio has had a change of heart, bringing back some of the most beloved characters from the franchise’s early days.
It is worth noting that this announcement does not necessarily confirm the inclusion of other key X-Men members like Gambit or Beast, who have been absent from previous Marvel projects. As more information becomes available, it will be interesting to see how these original characters are incorporated into the larger MCU narrative.
For now, fans can rest assured that some of their favorite heroes and villains will return, bringing a sense of nostalgia and continuity to the franchise’s next chapter.
