Apple is Said to Be Developing a Revamped Health App with a Built-In AI Doctor
Apple may be on the verge of a significant overhaul for its Health app, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. The tech giant is allegedly working on a more comprehensive version of the app under the codename “Project Mulberry”, which would integrate an artificial intelligence (AI) agent designed to replicate a doctor and serve as a personal health coach.
The revamped Health app, unofficially referred to as “Health+”, promises to offer a wide range of new features. Firstly, it will provide lifestyle recommendations based on users’ health data, helping them make informed decisions about their well-being. Additionally, the app is expected to include educational videos from real doctors discussing various aspects of health.
It appears that Apple is also shifting its focus towards food tracking within the Health app. Users may be able to log their dietary habits and receive suggestions for improvement. Furthermore, the app might even offer form correction tips for workouts using the device’s camera, a feature that could greatly benefit those who prioritize fitness.
The release of this revamped app is reportedly scheduled for iOS 19.4, which is expected to drop sometime in spring or summer next year. In preparation, Apple has hired doctors whose data will be used to train its AI agent. The company also plans to establish a studio near Oakland, California where they can film educational content.
Interestingly, Apple is said to be on the lookout for a well-known doctor to be the face of this new service, further emphasizing the importance placed on this initiative.
