Saylor’s Strategy Scoops Another 22,048 Bitcoin for $1.9 Billion
In a stunning move, Strategy (formerly known as MicroStrategy), the company chaired by Michael Saylor, has acquired an additional 22,048 Bitcoins for approximately $1.9 billion between March 24 and 30. The newly purchased cryptocurrency was obtained at an average price of $86,969 per coin.
The significant acquisition boosts the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to over 528,185 BTC, cementing its position as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin worldwide. It is worth noting that Strategy (MSTR) shares closed down nearly 11% on Friday and traded around $277 in Monday’s pre-market session, indicating a possible correlation between the stock’s performance and Bitcoin’s price movements.
The acquisition was reportedly financed through the proceeds from Common ATM, STRK ATM, and STRF Offering.
