Ford Offers Employee Pricing to All Car Shoppers as Auto Tariffs Kick In
In a surprise move, Ford Motor has announced that it will allow all car shoppers to purchase its vehicles at the discounted price it typically offers to its employees. This decision comes as new 25% U.S. tariffs on foreign vehicles took effect and President Trump announced sweeping tariff increases on U.S. trading partners around the world.
The “From America, For America” promotion is aimed at helping consumers navigate uncertain economic times by providing significant savings on various Ford and Lincoln vehicle models. The offer will run from April 3 to June 2 and includes a range of gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, diesel-powered vehicles for both personal and business use.
Ford’s decision comes as the auto industry faces uncertainty in light of the new tariffs and their potential impact on prices. In its first-quarter earnings report, Ford reported a surge in demand at its dealerships, driven by a 19% increase in sales during March. The company attributed this growth to consumers moving to get ahead of expected price increases.
The promotion excludes certain models, including the Ford Raptor, Expedition and Navigator SUVs as well as Super Duty trucks. More details about the offer can be found on Ford’s website.
As other companies prepare for the potential price hikes, some have already started to feel the impact of the new tariffs. Stellantis, which owns brands such as Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge and Ram, has announced that it will idle production at plants in Canada and Mexico and temporarily lay off 900 workers in the Midwest.
