The Wizard of Oz is Coming to the Las Vegas Sphere
Get ready for a magical experience! A new “fully immersive experience” is coming to the Las Vegas Sphere in August. It’s none other than the 1939 classic film, The Wizard of Oz.
Celebrating its 85th birthday ahead of Wicked For Good’s release, The Wizard of Oz will be screened on the venue’s massive 160,000-square foot screen in collaboration with Google, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Magnopus. This enhanced version promises to maintain the integrity of the original while incorporating current technology.
Although the details about what makes it an “immersive experience” have not been revealed yet, fans of the classic film are sure to be thrilled at the prospect of this new take on a beloved story. The Wizard of Oz’s addition marks a change in direction for Sphere Entertainment CEO Jim Dolan, as he aims to provide a diverse slate that utilizes Sphere’s unique capabilities.
The new immersive experience will open August 28 and promises to push the company’s vision “in different ways.”
