Marvel Rivals is Getting New Heroes Every Month
NetEase Games has announced a significant change to the post-launch schedule of its popular game, Marvel Rivals. According to a recent statement by Guangyun Chen, the director of the game, the new format will see a new playable character join the roster every month.
This decision comes as a result of the success of the game’s opening seasons, which followed a three-month cycle with a new hero introduced every six weeks. The change is intended to fulfill “the fundamental dream to integrate even more exciting Marvel heroes into Marvel Rivals,” Chen explained.
The updated schedule will also see future seasons shortened to just two months long, compared to the original three-month cycle. This increased pace of new content should bring in a fresh injection of excitement and replayability for fans, and it remains to be seen if this change will have any effect on the overall balance of the game.
It is important to note that this shift comes with an expanded roster size, as by the end of 2025, Marvel Rivals could potentially have nearly 50 heroes. This raises questions about how NetEase Games plans to handle the ever-growing library of characters and maintain a sense of balance in terms of gameplay.
However, it seems that fans will not have to wait long for new additions to the roster, with a hero joining every month.
