XRP News Today: Price Rises 4%, Ripple Outpaces BTC and ETH in South Korea
After a recent dip to a low of $1.96, the price of XRP has seen a remarkable comeback, surging over 4% within a single day. The cryptocurrency is now hovering above the $2.11 mark, with traders eager to see if it will be able to maintain its upward momentum and potentially target higher levels.
The significant gain in value has largely been attributed to the growing interest in XRP, particularly in South Korea where it continues to dominate trading volumes. This surge in popularity comes as a surprise to many, considering the global markets where Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) typically take center stage.
However, data from Kaiko Research indicates that XRP-KRW has secured the top spot for trading volume an astonishing 70 times this year alone, effortlessly outpacing both BTC and ETH in the process. This is all the more remarkable considering South Korea’s strict crypto regulations, which require exchanges to register with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), resulting in a stable trading environment.
It is interesting to note that other altcoins such as STX, DOGE, SOL have also seen significant traction in the region, further solidifying XRP’s position at the top.
