Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) criticized fellow Democratic lawmakers Thursday, stating that they have failed to “think big” and “act big” in their response to the Trump administration’s policies.
Schiff made his remarks during an interview on NBC News’ Meet the Press, where he was discussing the recent actions taken by some Democrats in Congress. The representative expressed frustration with his colleagues for not doing enough to push back against President Donald Trump’s agenda and the Republican-controlled Senate.
“I think we’re missing a tremendous opportunity here,” Schiff said. “We’re not thinking big enough, we’re not acting big enough. We have got to be willing to take bold steps.”
Schiff also called on his fellow Democrats to adopt a more aggressive stance in their fight against the administration’s policies, particularly in regards to healthcare and immigration reform.
“We can’t just sit back and let this administration continue to do something so monumentally wrong,” Schiff added.
