White House Reportedly Blames Auto-Suggested iPhone Contact for Signal Scandal
In a shocking turn of events, the White House has reportedly attributed the recent Signal scandal to an unexpected culprit – an iPhone’s auto-suggestion feature. According to internal investigation findings, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz inadvertently added Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat with Trump administration officials discussing plans for an airstrike in Yemen.
The alleged incident occurred after Brian Hughes, a Trump spokesperson, texted the contents of Goldberg’s email to Waltz. As a result, Waltz’s iPhone offered a “contact suggestion update” that ultimately saved Goldberg’s phone number under Hughes’ name. This led Waltz to accidentally add Goldberg instead of Hughes to the chat.
The White House has chosen not to comment on the matter further, but sources close to the investigation confirm that an iPhone auto-suggestion played a key role in the incident.
