The highly anticipated movie adaptation of the critically acclaimed game Death Stranding is one step closer to becoming a reality. According to recent announcements from production company A24, Michael Sarnoski has been tapped as both the writer and director for the upcoming film.
Sarnoski may not be a household name just yet, but his previous work on projects like A Quiet Place: Day One and Pig demonstrates that he is more than capable of handling this ambitious project. For those unfamiliar with Death Stranding, it is essential to understand that the game’s narrative revolves around the catastrophic events that blur the lines between the world of the living and the dead, leading to a fragmented society.
As such, Sarnoski will be tasked with bringing this complex world to life on the big screen. While no casting information has been made available, it is crucial that Norman Reedus, who portrayed protagonist Sam Porter Bridges in the game, has some involvement in the film. A cameo from Conan O’Brien would also be a welcome addition.
It’s worth noting that Kojima Productions will be involved in the movie adaptation process, but no release date has been given as filming has not yet begun.
