Anthropic’s Max plan offers nearly unlimited Claude usage for $200 per month
In a move to cater to the growing demand of its flagship chatbot, Claude, Anthropic has announced the launch of two new tiers. The company is responding to the unprecedented popularity of Claude 3.7 Sonnet, which excels in coding tasks and has garnered immense user interest.
Starting immediately, customers can opt for either a $100 or $200 monthly subscription plan to utilize Claude at an increased scale compared to the existing Pro plan. This new tier, dubbed Max, aims to provide users with greater flexibility as their needs evolve over time. Furthermore, subscribers will also gain priority access to newly developed models and capabilities as they become available.
It’s worth noting that the cost of tokens for Claude 3.7 Sonnet significantly exceeds those offered by Google and other lightweight model providers. As a result, Anthropic has not opted to offer unrestricted usage of the new model. Nevertheless, the introduction of these two pricing tiers will still provide users with greatly expanded capabilities compared to existing offerings.
In contrast, even OpenAI’s $200 per month Pro plan imposes limits on features such as Deep Research, which require intense computational resources. The addition of two price points at the Max tier allows Anthropic to offer more customization options for its clients, while also granting them priority access to new developments in the world of AI.
The company emphasized that this expansion is a direct response to user enthusiasm and demand for Claude 3.7 Sonnet’s capabilities.
