Ford, GM Among More Than 160K Vehicles Recalled
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced several recalls affecting thousands of vehicles from various manufacturers. One of the notable recalls involves BMW, General Motors, and Ford.
BMW is recalling over 3,000 units of their Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive) 2025 models due to a potential issue with the starter-generator and positive battery cable. Dealers will inspect and replace these components free of charge, while owner notification letters are set to be sent on May 23.
Meanwhile, Honda is recalling approximately 3,316 units of their 2024-2025 ADV160 scooters. In this instance, there’s a risk that the oil pump-driven gear could fail, resulting in a loss of drive power. Dealers will replace the affected components at no cost to owners, with notification letters being sent on May 26.
General Motors is also issuing a recall affecting over 16,000 units across various models, including some Cadillac vehicles. The exact details and timeframe for this action have not been disclosed by NHTSA, but owners will be notified accordingly.
Ford, in addition to the previously mentioned recalls, has issued another notification for approximately 13,500 of their vehicles. However, the specifics of the issue and remedy have yet to be made publicly available.
In other news, Nissan is recalling about 2,200 units of their vehicles due to a potential risk of fires caused by an electrical system malfunction. Dealers will inspect and replace affected components at no charge.
NHTSA urges all affected vehicle owners to take immediate action in addressing these safety concerns, as the well-being of drivers and passengers must be paramount.
