Trump’s Trade War Proves Blockchain’s Value, Says Cardano’s Hoskinson at Paris Blockchain Week
Charles Hoskinson, the founder and CEO of Input Output Global (IOG), delivered a keynote speech at the ongoing Paris Blockchain Week. In his address, he emphasized that the recent trade war initiated by US President Trump highlights the significance of blockchain technology.
The IOHK founder began by providing a brief history lesson on why too much centralization can be harmful to society. He noted that this is exactly what’s happening globally as a result of the ongoing trade war initiated by Trump. According to Hoskinson, it’s crucial for people and institutions to have control over their financial data, rather than relying solely on traditional finance and government regulations.
Hoskinson emphasized that blockchain technology has come a long way since its inception and is now ready to play a critical role in bridging the gap between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). He believes that this fourth generation of blockchain should merge these two sectors into one single entity, which he refers to as “Finance” or “Fi.”
