Kraken has announced a new partnership with Mastercard to launch crypto debit cards in Europe. This innovative initiative enables users to spend their cryptocurrencies directly at the point of payment, eliminating the need for conversion into fiat currency beforehand.
The feature will be available soon for eligible regions, allowing users to join a waitlist and request the card. Kraken’s goal is to simplify everyday cryptocurrency usage, focusing on ease and transparency.
Key Features of the Card
Each transaction will clearly display fees before confirmation, with no hidden charges. This means that you’ll always be aware of the costs involved.
Additionally, there may be spreads built into prices depending on asset type, amount, or chosen payment method. These spreads are used to make transactions more efficient and secure.
Please note that all transactions are final and non-refundable.
To ensure security and facilitate spending management, operational limits have been set. There are minimum purchase amounts and weekly spending caps in place for Apple Pay and Google Pay.
