Important Ripple v. SEC Lawsuit Update Coming on April 16?
The XRP community is bracing itself for a potential update in the ongoing lawsuit between Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to legal expert Fred Rispoli, there is a significant likelihood of either a settlement or withdrawal notice by April 16.
In a recent statement, CEO Brad Garlinghouse claimed that the SEC had dropped its appeal against the company. However, the regulatory agency has yet to confirm this information, leaving uncertainty in the air.
As scheduled, Ripple’s appellate brief is due on April 16. It seems unlikely that the brief will be filed without any prior announcement from the parties involved. The silence from both sides has led some to speculate that a significant development might take place at the end of the month.
Rispoli believes it is highly probable that the agency and Ripple will reach an agreement or notify stakeholders about the next step in the process by then. He even assigned a 90% probability to this scenario, suggesting that there’s only a minor 10% chance of the filing happening without any accompanying notice.
