Tesla Used Car Listings Skyrocketed in March
In a surprising turn of events, it appears that the number of used Tesla vehicles listed for sale has dramatically increased in the month of March. According to recent reports from Autotrader.com and Cox Automotive, the data shows a significant surge in listings.
As reported by Sherwood News, the numbers have reached an all-time high, with over 13,000 used Teslas being listed on average each day in the last week of March alone. This marks a remarkable increase of 67% compared to the same period last year.
It’s worth noting that this sudden spike is happening at the same time as Tesla sales are experiencing a downturn. According to recent figures from Kelley Blue Book, new Tesla vehicle sales have declined by nearly 9% during the first quarter of 2025, whereas sales from other electric vehicle (EV) brands are on the rise.
Despite being outpaced by competitors in terms of overall sales volume, companies like General Motors and Hyundai are showing signs of growth. For instance, GM brand sales skyrocketed to over 30,000 units in the first quarter, nearly doubling their previous year’s numbers.
The reasons behind this unexpected development remain unclear, but it’s evident that Tesla owners have chosen to put their vehicles on the market in large quantities.
