Canva is getting AI image generation, interactive coding, spreadsheets and more
Although there has been significant backlash from the artistic community regarding the proliferation of AI design tools and the content used to train generative models, companies making software for creative work are relentlessly building AI into their toolkits. It appears that Canva has decided to follow suit by adding a suite of new AI features to its platform.
In an effort to enhance user experience, the company is introducing an AI assistant dubbed Canva AI. The AI assistant will be capable of generating images according to your instructions, or even come up with design ideas – say, collateral for social media or mock-ups for printing. Additionally, it can write copy and create documents. Furthermore, by leveraging a new tool called Canva Code, the AI assistant will also have the ability to create mini-apps like interactive maps or custom calculators that can then be integrated into designs.
Interestingly, Canva has partnered with Anthropic to achieve this feature.
