Anthropic forms a new team to grow its AWS business
Anthropic has formed a new team aimed at growing its Amazon Web Services (AWS) business. The move reflects the company’s increasing partnership with Amazon, which has already invested heavily in the startup.
The new team will focus on recruiting AWS customers to use Anthropic’s AI products, according to job listings on the company’s website and various job boards online. This is a significant development, as it underscores the deepening relationship between Anthropic and AWS.
As part of this partnership, Amazon has been instrumental in helping Anthropic develop its AI models by providing in-house chips and infrastructure on its cloud platform. Additionally, Anthropic has optimized its models to run on AWS infrastructure, releasing models with capabilities exclusive to Bedrock, AWS’ AI development platform.
It is worth noting that Amazon sees great potential in Anthropic’s technology to power components of its revamped Alexa experience, Alexa+. In fact, the company’s CEO Andy Jassy recently claimed that Amazon’s AI revenue is growing at “triple-digit” year-over-year percentages and represents a “multi-billion-dollar annual revenue run rate.”
For its part, Anthropic aims to notch $12 billion in revenue by 2027, up from a projected $2.2 billion this year.
