A limited edition bundle of Doom games is being released by Limited Run Games, which includes a unique feature – the game box itself can play the classic shooter.
The $666 “Will it Run Edition” will be available for purchase on April 18 at 10AM ET. The bundle comes with both the original Doom and Doom II, as well as several other goodies such as a cassette soundtrack, certificate of authenticity, and a trading card park with five cards.
What sets this edition apart is the game box itself, which has a built-in screen and USB port that allows it to play the game. To access the gameplay, users simply need to connect a USB controller.
This exclusive bundle is limited to just 666 copies, making it a rare collector’s item for fans of the series.
For those who are not willing or able to shell out $666, there are also two cheaper options available. The “Big Box Edition” costs $100 and includes both games, a large game box, trading card set, and soundtrack on cassette. The “Standard Edition” will cost $30 and simply includes the games themselves.
It’s worth noting that the PC version of this bundle comes with a download code rather than physical copies of the games.
The release date for the bundle has not been specified, but it is expected to be available sometime after pre-orders close on May 18.
