Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed his shocking past as an abused child, saying he thought his father would kill him during their violent arguments.
The 58-year-old dancer-turned-judge appeared on ITV’s This Morning to open up about his tumultuous childhood. He shared that his father was physically and emotionally abusive towards him, leaving him feeling like a “little slave”.
Craig revealed that the abuse took place when he was just six years old, saying: “I thought I was going to die at times because of the way my dad was treating me.”
He also admitted that the trauma has left lasting scars, stating: “You can’t undo what’s been done. You can’t rewrite history.”
Despite the dark past, Craig credited his Strictly Come Dancing job with helping him heal and find peace. He expressed gratitude for the show, saying it has allowed him to turn a negative into a positive.
Craig’s courageous revelation comes as part of his ongoing efforts to raise awareness about child abuse and promote healing through sharing personal stories.
