I must apologise to Ruth Langsford. She was betrayed by Eamonn Holmes
As I write this column, the news of Ruth Langsford’s impending departure from Loose Women has sent shockwaves through the television industry and beyond. While some may see her exit as a mere contractual change, I believe it is much more than that.
You see, I must hold my hands up and admit that I have been guilty of criticising Ruth in the past. But now, with the full extent of Eamonn Holmes’s alleged wrongdoing towards her coming to light, I am forced to re-evaluate my stance. The fact that he has betrayed her trust, allegedly pilfering millions from their joint business ventures, leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
As Ruth rides off into the sunset, pocketing a reported £1 million plus, it’s hard not to wonder what’s going through Eamonn’s mind right now. Is he regretful of his actions? Does he feel guilty for putting their shared empire at risk? Or is he simply consumed by the bitter taste of defeat?
One thing is certain – Ruth Langsford has been wronged, and it’s time we acknowledged that.
