Pam Bondi, former Florida Attorney General and current Trump administration official, is calling out “detached from reality” Democrats for demanding the return of an alleged MS-13 gang member who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador.
On Tuesday’s edition of Jesse Watters’ Primetime on Fox News, Bondi expressed her frustration with Democratic lawmakers who are pushing for the release of Juan Abrego Garcia, a man accused of being a violent MS-13 gang member. The U.S. government had mistakenly deported Abrego Garcia to El Salvador in 2017.
“I’m tired of these people in Congress who are detached from reality,” Bondi said. “They’re demanding that we bring this guy back and let him out on the streets of America, when he’s been accused of being a violent MS-13 gang member.”
The U.S. government has previously stated that it cannot return Abrego Garcia to the United States without putting American citizens at risk.
Bondi’s comments come as Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) are leading a push in Congress to release Abrego Garcia back into the U.S. The move is being met with opposition from Trump administration officials, including President Donald Trump himself.
The drama surrounding Abrego Garcia’s deportation has sparked concerns about immigration policy and national security.
