Ethereum – Why Vitalik Buterin’s ‘game-changing’ EVM overhaul could be ‘100x faster’
As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, Ethereum’s founder Vitalik Buterin has proposed a major overhaul of its execution layer, commonly known as the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This bold move aims to greatly improve the efficiency of the Ethereum execution layer and enhance scalability.
According to Buterin, the current EVM is dragging the speed of the chain by up to 800x. He believes that replacing it with the RISC-V language version for smart contracts could bring “100x efficiency gains.”
